Who is Dr. Lyle Evans?

If you watched Mad Men last night you know exactly what I am talking about. And apparently this is the question on everyone’s mind.
It seems to me that it was just something the writers slipped in to drive us all crazy.
When Roger Sterling blurted out “Why don’t we just get Dr. Lyle Evans in here?” People around the world leapt to their computers, iPads, iPhones and any other web-enabled device to find out just who the hell he was referring to. And so far, it appears to be nobody.

So what was this really all about? Was it just a viral prank as some suggest? Something to get Mad Men fans like yours truly to rush to their blogs and start writing? Is it a teaser for something to come later in the season? An easter egg for Matthew Weiner’s friends? Already people are tagging their YouTube videos with the name to trick people into viewing (thus driving up their view count).
Some lucky bastard (or extreme genius) quickly jumped on the idea and launched @dr_lyle_evans. The first tweet?
“Busy morning. Lots of calls today.”
Absolute genius.
