Freedom!

Inspired by a recent article about 99 Days of Freedom, and the overall declining value of the Facebook experience, I just deactivated my account.
I removed their apps from my phone.
I’m free. Now to see how long it lasts. I’ve a couple months without using it before, but with all the major life changes headed our way over the next few months it could be harder this time. I’ve still got Instagram, and Twitter. And Venmo – which may be the hottest new social network. And I can always go back if I really feel like I need it.
But I don’t think I will. If I need something to endlessly scroll through without caring while I wait in line I have Feedly.
The best part of the whole experience is this:
Kevin will miss me? Maybe. We talk on Twitter and text more than Facebook. Scott will miss me? I don’t think he even knows how to use Facebook. Oh, Dave will miss me. Nope. Mcgowan. Maybe he will miss me. And Dan, well, I won’t miss Dan — not his posts anyway (sorry Dan).
You all know how to find me anyway, you’ll just need to come up with a more innovative way to wish me a happy birthday (if you even know when it is).
